Transcript:
Luann: "Took long enough"
Bernice: "Good. I've always felt like one"
Gunther: "Will the classes be harder?"
Tiffany: "College boys"
Crystal: "Can we start at 7 p.m.?"
Knute: "A senior what?"
Dad: "Wait- why am I here?!"
B2UB:Methuselah Records… “The oldest Rock/Blues/Country record company, still bringing you the hits… or what’s left of them”….“Home of Nag Jerkowycz and His Drunken Cowboys, Jerry Tall and his debut album, ‘Moments’…. along with The Rolling Pebbles, B.B. Prince and A.A. Bottom, before they changed their names”… “We were cool, before there was even any country”… – 20 Cereal… “From the makers of 19 1/2 teen cereal”… “Packed full of stuff that only mature people would eat!”…“If you like 19 1/2, Just wait till you try 20!”… – and by…The Young Bucks with their debut album, “Look Ma, I’m On Top Of the World!”… From Rookie Records… Available in stores now…
Ha ha! I love Luann’s “rib” at her creator, there…and a shout out to all of us… if there’s one thing I like more than irony, it’s a good inside joke… or a 4th wall acknowledgement… or actually, even a plate of French fries…
How old should Frank be now? if it is 2013 then he is between about 69-74. If it is 1987 which would mean the occasional technological devices are probably Karen’s anacronisms then he should be around 47-50. I am guessing that this is Evans way to say he really goofed-up with the time lines. Or it’s still 1987 and Delta is dressed right and jamming to Young MC and Bobby Brown.
I’ll be honest, I was just looking at that… but I’d like to think of Lu and Frank serving more as bookends, and that Luann’s being on the end was more of her getting to go first, ahead of everyone else….
Man, Tiff’s going to be like the frat version of the old lady that Sherri used to tell me would get passed around by the motorcycle gangs. She goes I might have had an old man, but I never got passed around…
Good thing Evans didn’t do a Schultz and put out a real number. The guy got all these calls and was super P-O’d at Schultz apparently and apparently Schultz thought that was hilarious…
Really good show, huh? Sometimes, part of winning a crowd isn’t always in the technical moves or appearance, but in how they interact with an audience… so if he ever gets to make it this way to Rams Head, Merriweather Post, or somewhere near the Philly suburbs, maybe I’ll have to grab some tix… – There’s a song of his, “Constantinople”, that sounds a bit different from what most people have heard from him.. a bit more ’rock" sounding, I guess
And to warm us up with the next song on our playlist here is a quote from one of our posters:“Been there, done that – when my sister was alive, she owned a salon and at times I ended up being a subject of her ‘experiments’…. Corn rows, sunglitzing, etc. and now, I miss that…”Folks, this is David Bowie and the Spiders from Mars beating out XIV and Cheech & Chong with our number 3 song for the countdown- Lady Stardust.Just kidding- have fun keeping up the posting gang. : )
hmmm, just thinking… Greg Evans is 65 now. He could easily drag this senior year out for a few years and then retire, leaving everyone wondering how the college years would have gone…
The Donny Wallace Channel:All Donny, All the Time- signing off with the national anthem. Boy I’m getting lust in the heart for Tiff- I’m ready to call her- it’s time for me to sign off gang…
Question did they make a bunch of changes to comics. I can’t find the box to enlarge and whole different lay out at the bottom of the comic strips. face book tweet likes is it just mine or did they screw it up? Enjoyed the enlarge feature
Back in the 1960s-70s, Kellogg’s put out a cereal called “Product 19”. Can’t find it anymore.^Yeah, that’s the cereal I was referring to, which is why I phrased it: “and 1/2,” in order to appease the suits…. – As a child, I genuinely agreed that it was an… “adult” cereal, not because of any lack of “fun shapes and colors”, but because of the “lack of taste”!…. -And it was also bland in naming, interestingly, because of the fact that Kellogg’s couldn’t find a suitable name, so they went with the fact that it was their 19th breakfast product…. -I saw it in a store here, around the Mid Atlantic, not too too long ago…however, according to their website, it’s still in production…. apparently, something’s going on, since many haven’t found it as plentiful as it has been, in the 60s-80s… if you ask me, it’s probably because demand is low (I suspect the taste), and stores don’t order as much of it….
Think Greg has finally made it clear that they are seniors? ^No, I think we need a week or two, maybe having a party at another seniors’ house, or perhaps if someone would be kind enough to remind us that it’s a comic strip with seniors in it…
Okay,I rarely comment anyway, and this is totally off topic, but those file cabinets of Miss Phelps are really bugging me. (I just got back from vacation) Yes, the joke is that she is WAY out of date, but this time it’s not her fault!! Schools provide technical support , training and equipment to teachers. This is mandatory. She’s not supposed to purchase her own computer, pay for classes, and then transfer all of her files to the system all while doing her actual job!
When I used to read “Bloom…”, it seemed inevitable to make it about Opus, with all of the “Steve Dallas” hubbub, and I don’t think one could leave it to “Milo” to carry it, even with that closet, lol!
Ok my comments were a little over the top in length and so it’s time to stop. Brdshtt you are of the 70s, carry on with the CB and 8-Tracks forever. May there always be a hotel with a performance by the original Pablo Cruise.

the one I always got a kick out of was a two – panel cartoon of a young lady who got a tat of a Harley on her chest – I guess a person could visualize where the wheels were. The second panel showed her at about age 70. Man, those were some long, tall wheels…

I really enjoyed a Zits strip where Mom and Dad were getting ready for bed and talking about tattoos, I think, and Dad was bending over and Mom, looking at his backside, said, “Yeah, that peace sign is more like a stop sign now.”
Re: 9/29/85 strip: excellent data mining, mikeyj, thanks! So Luann’s middle initial is “C.” I wonder what it stands for? Cecille? Claudia? Catherine? Charlotte? Charlene?
