Dog #1 would regularly be waiting at the door when we got home from somewhere, concern and anxiety all over his face, ready to let us know that Dog #2 had gotten into the garbage, gotten herself trapped in the back stairwell, or otherwise gotten into some trouble that we would be cranky about.
Levity aside, what bothers me about this strip is that the guy doesn’t ‘reward’ the dog for coming, by saying, “Good BOY for coming!” even though he’s ticked that the dog took so long. Instead he just gets upset.
I hear my stupid neighbor yelling at his dog – which doesn’t WANT to come because all he gets is yelled at. And so the neighbor yells even louder and more angrily.
Endless circle… And the neighbor isn’t smart enough to break it.
Ah, yes, just the reason our big cities still have major problems being overrun with gangs and violence, the whole “stop snitching” mentality — although it glorifies the stupidity to call it a “mentality.”

Oh, that’s not true.
