Ripley's Believe It or Not! A Chinese business man paid over $400,000 for a single racing pigeon named Bolt from a Belgian breeder in May 2013. Pilot John Lawton celebrated his 90th birthday in June 2013 by completing 90 international crossings in two days - flying back and forth over the Niagara River across the United States-Canada border. Clever Humans Farmers sometimes feed their cows magnets that sit in their stomachs for their entire lives, preventing any damage from any accidentally eaten metal.

No – the magnets are powerful, rare earth magnets that do not react with stomach digestive juices and acids. This is actually pretty neat as cows are always picking up the odd bits of wire and other small, iron and steel objects. The metals eventually are dissolved by their stomach acids. The magnets keep the metal from moving on down and snarking up the plumbing until they are dissolved.

Pigeons and Pot-Bellied pigs make the best pets. You can always eat them when you’re tired of them.

Knowing the power of bureaucrats, maybe it was 2 hours to do the flying and 2 days to do the resulting paper work?

Anyone dumb enuff to pay $400,000 for a pigeon should have it eaten by a hawk.

People in our area were once paying hundreds for pot belly pigs. A year later: Ads: Free to good home, pot belly pig!

That magnet in the first stomach thing is nothing new, I’ve heard about it for at least 60 years.

Look up ‘hardware disease’. Google for pictures of cow magnets that have been recovered. WARNING=YOU MAY NOT LIKE WHAT YOU SEE.

A {Chinese} fool and his money are soon parted, especially since his prize pigeon flew home to Belgium first time out. Must have gotten lost the breeder claimed but…“I have his twin brother named Homer I will sell you for the unheard price of only $500,000.”
