When “you can grow up to be anything you want to be” and “dare to dream big” meets the masses of people who in reality don’t want you to accomplish your idealistic goals because it interferes with their idealistic goals, then you understand the wisdom of Charlie Brown’s position. The only way to the top is by destroying everyone else who wants to get there precisely because they want to destroy you in order to get there. That’s not being cynical, that’s being realistic. Charlie Brown simply isn’t comfortable destroying other people.
@Snoopy_FanYou are welcome for the birthday wish on Wednesday. I’m so glad you had a wonderful day.Mine is the same date as Beethoven’s (Schroeder would be jealous!)I hope you have a fantastic, enjoyable weekend. Have you been busy throughout the week? If so, take it easy!♥
It took me 40 years to learn that it’s OK to relax and be. And life is a lot sweeter when you learn to let the river flow instead of trying to push it.

@punmeister: Reading Peanuts every day is a psych drug, too.

I was such an overachiever that it nearly killed me. I remember telling a therapist, “I aspire to mediocrity.” I’ve achieved it.Life is good.

Right on, Mr. Brown. As Harry Crews said, “Survival is triumph enough.”

I think Charlie Brown just wants to be satisfied with life.

Strange as that sounds, kid is right. You get nothing when you seek perfection; even if you do find it, it’s so perfect, it becomes dull…

Me too, CB.

Nobody calls Lucy, Lucy van Pelt because she goes by the name “Her Royal Highness.”
Actually Lucy-fer would be more appropriate.

Boom. Chuck’s on the mark again.

That’s horrible. It’s funny how he seems happy, and then wants to commit suicide. That’s so random. This comic strip makes no sense.

If achieving mediocrity is your choice, it beats having others choose for you.

I’m with CB. I’ll settle with just being alive, fairly healthy, and having a roof over my head.
