Fail-Safe.

Well, at least it wasn’t a skipped rock across the pond which began the whole mess of Marigold and Phoebe’s friendship.

Luckly it was not a pebble this time.

A “friend in Need” with her “Friend in Deed”.What could be better than that?

Marigold’s expression in panels 2 and 3 is perfect. (Dana has long been a master of expressive expressions. She does marvelous things with a single eye that would take pages of writing to capture)Dana took a bit of a chance with this one. The commenters so far clearlly have been “on board” from the start and understand the context. New arrivals may be confused — to whom I recommend reading the archives. Im sure slapping the unicorn has to mean some thing but Im not sure what. Sure is an interesting relationship they have. and Suddenly I recall the classic must see movie “Airplane” I wounder if I drew that if any one would get the joke? last time I told an Airplane joke it fell on an audience who never saw the movie.

Deer have headlights; Marigold has this.

Reminds me of Mongo punching the horse in “Blazing Saddles”.

It looks like a pleasure trance, kind of the unicorn version of a mind altering drug. I hope it is not addictive.

So if Dakota wanted to capture Marigold all she’d have to do is hold up a mirror and lead her away. And while she’s gazing at her reflection she doesn’t talk so that’s another plus.
