Wow, X .. hope they’re not taking pictures of MY house.
If they did….how many beers would it take to keep you quiet?By “quiet” I mean, including, of course…. NOT posting pics…cos I know you’d try to use uploading them silently as a loophole.
Yes I saw and responded on yesterday earlier about my sugar bowl and chandeliers. My spare room is kept closed off (and has an 8’ workbench from Zenith as well as equipment and materials for all kinds of unfinished projects) but THIS chandelier was my prize and I had it hung in one corner of this room (with the best match I found at the jog/semi-corner of the room). A floor lamp here at my desk and a wall lamp next to the gate-leg table finish the 4 sides.
What most people don’t realize is that the Mackenzie Childs lamp people were developed in collaboration with XTI ( x_Tech Industries ) and that they are actually programmed to sense when light is needed. They will move toward wherever extra illumination is necessary and, when there’s no more need, they’ll go find a seat and sit down til they’re needed again. I went back (unbeknownst to Bev….ssshhhhhhh!) and bought TWO !!!
I could die happy in Bev’s closet. I picked 23 tomatoes yesterday and since I put up 38 jars of plum jam, I will be giving a free tomato and jar-of-jam to the first 25 people who sign a contract with Mike Holmes this morning. Its now 9:58 so I have to hustle, I can hear the murmuring of the crowd from up here at the north end of Ballard…..
Aaron has never been one to look to the future. Actually Aaron isn’t doing much looking at all. His critics have deemed him lazy; he believes blasé says it best. Aaron considers himself smooth, silky soft yet efficient and effective. Over the years he has developed a rating system which has him scoring bigtime in all categories. He gives himself a 10 for meeting the requirements in his routine, since there aren’t any, a 10 was a sure thing. He also gave himself a 10 for difficulty, and again the reason is obvious. In an uncharacteristic moment of modesty, he did score himself a 7 for engaging and exciting. But returned to all 10’s for execution, poise and posture. Also, extra credit for staying within the time constrains was a no brainer since this particular event takes all day and he has all day to do it. Music which would seem to be a vital and important feature is actually optional. So there you have it; an Olympian dream come true; a 10.5 and all judges concur. In reality I must say I am envious, I was disqualified for stepping out of bounds and my black socks have a hole in the toe.
Hi SUSAN, BEV, STEL and the rest of our eclectic gang of Ballard Street denizens. As usual, I have tuckered myself out getting here and must toddle off to Prince Mua’s cat Chalet to sleep. There are too many comments to comment on. I think that Aaron’s distain for life’s demands has rubbed off on me.
Bev, after seeing that bathroom at DH and the peek in your closet, I’m thinking maybe you should consider taking a sea cruise or at least a harbor cruise. Perhaps on the converted ferry boat Yankee. I believe you’ll enjoy the informal dining. And be right at home in the comfy Salon.
Oh, and please don’t call it a barge they have a policy…You Dis It, You Buy It
@X, I thought you were joking about the salon until I visited the link. I have visited many “antique” (consignment) shops that had less of an eclectic mix (and have made many purchases). It is WAY late; I’ve been doing much online “research” Yeah, I’ll call it that
Bev…. I calculated that it would take at least 1000 years worth of weekly full price mani-pedis to buy that ferry!…. But you don’t get one every week…. AND you always get my “Friends with Sinickerdoodles” discount….
So more like TWO thousand years.
Can you really wait 2000 years for your next glittery toes?!!
(In fact I wanted to buy it for you…maybe for Christmas, but …. sniffle….nobody gets that many haircuts and manicures on Ballard Street, not even counting Miss Millie High Maintenance.)
OK…. I posted that last comment three hours ago….. no one has stopped by.I guess I’d better leave the morning crew with a lunch special to get some business going…..
We’ll do our “Dibs on Ribs” lunch… a big smoked yak rib, with sides, comes with a slice of my key lime or apple pie… heck, any kind of my pie that’s still here when you get here….and a steaming cup of the Tiki’s own high mountain Turdmunkistan coffee…..
That oughta bring ’em in.
G’night all…. and sorry I missed you again, Shika and Twinkly….
That DOES look like it would be a fun cruise. The only cruises I’ve been on are a few on Lake Michigan with that infamous guy. I had 2 photos, and neither is in my HD ;-(
Bev…. As with all Tiki yak rib specials, if you can actually eat a 2nd one (most people can’t), it’s included…. as are refills on coleslaw…. and your coffee, of course, or tea (herbal or PG Tips).
Another cup of soup, dish of beans, or whatever you picked for your second side dish, OR another piece of pie, to be consumed on the premises, is just 87¢….
(Always 76¢ on Mondays or Tuesdays, or any night between 11pm and 5am!)
Extra pie to go, OTOH, is charged at menu price, with a 23% discount because you purchased a full meal….28% if it was a platter special.
I try to keep it very simple.
And of course, as a friend and client, you’re welcome to drop by the salon any time…where (if I’m in town), pies and bread are always baking, and my big coffeepot is always on.
This reminds me… Linda Dean…..sorry I wasn’t here….I left the special on the chalkboard for the day crew to start.
I hope you picked up your orders….
Only problem with specials to go is no seconds….but since you’re a regular customer, for 4 people, they usually throw in a couple of extra ribs and an extra pint of coleslaw.
Hope they did, and your son liked having yak ribs.
@Stel,LOVE the new issue! GoComics is giving me trouble again tho’ so I only checked one page (missing caption at the bottom?. Never mind, I’d never be able even to paste a bunch together like that.

@Twinkly, I still like popcorn better at the movies (and was indulging with Skinny Pop brand before my doc made the list). I just came back over here to read the rest of Stel’s paper (while I wait for pages to come up in new tab I can continue typing)
