And Phoebe joins Jason form Fox Trot and the kid from Rose is Rose on the list of kids who love back to school shopping.

Me I only ever worried about what cartoons were on my stuff. Up till High school when they first made us take books home and I had to give up cartoons for durability. my old back pack is STILL in perfect shape over a decade after. It was one of those ones they test on bear cubs to show they can’t be destroyed.

I wounder how dad is doing with the unicorn? What happens when a techno savvy 80s kid who never grew up stays at home alone with a vane unicorn who hasn’t experienced technology nearly as much, but still mange to enjoy records despite all the things that are new to her so shes not completely hopeless at technology, get together?

Marigold : So have you tasted any good lawns lately?

Dad: No, but I did just get done planting the perfect number of trees and flowers and pulling weeds on Animal Crossing so my lawn looks great."

Not to be picky, but Phoebe’s seat belt is white in panel #2, and black in #4.

They still travel to a store to go shopping? How old fashioned! Everything you need can be ordered online and delivered to your door. I suppose they must be like those old luddites who need to handle and examine the merchandise before they buy it.

    (note, we are being sarcastic)

Times do change…I remember when Bic Banana markers were the big back to school item.

Every September I get this irrational urge to go buy pads of paper, pens (I have trunks-ful), erasers and rulers. Some habits die hard…I just attended my 55th high school reunion.

I always hated anything that had to do with – erk – back to school. It wasn’t until my first semester in college that there was anything pleasant about buying books and supplies for studies etc..

@simpsonfan2-yes-the PeeChee folder-do they still make those with the same drawings on them? Used to write the name of boys I liked on the folder-the good old days.

I’ve been dorm room shopping with my daughter and of course that includes notebooks, pens, paperclips, and other assorted desk items. My burning question is: When did everything become so darn cute?!

My son starts pre-school in a couple days, all he needs in a little paint set – nice and easy!

That’s one of the things I love about this strip: it embraces technology, which makes the characters easier to relate to and real. OF course, the fact that I’m a computer geek just like her dad might have something to do with that, too. .
