A good solution would be to let them make the flags for the dance. But, have an acknowledgement of thanks for the children who made them. Tell the principal that you are encouraging them to perform public service! ;-)

B2UB:the “Well, what had happened…” line, from Stallmark Cards…. “When you meant well enough to send the very best”… “Give them a funny story to tell it!” – Grilled Confessions… theTV interview special, hosted by Alfred Yankovic… this week, he presses R&B star Usher, to ask him: Why? Why?… Check your local listings.. Or just check “TV Lied”…. either way… – and by…Glitter cleaning/cold relief products… “You can do it all! From airing out dirty laundry, to clearing your chest”… “Come clean! With Glitter!”…

Goodness, Tiffany sure has a hard time making friends with the Truth! Keep the pressure on her, Luann, until the little kids realize how they are being used.

PSA:The next time you’re enjoying your little ham sandwich, that you probably put a lot of mustard on, think about all of those people who don’t get to ride in jets, or have their nice limousine taken from them… or worse yet, have to suffer the embarrassment of driving last years’ Beemer…. does that feel good to you? No? Well, how about all of those folks who don’t have gold plated plumbing… or have discourteous wait staff, maids, butlers, etc…. all because some punk scum kid… or some very selfish little old lady decided to not buy that extra copy of “Gilligan’s Island”, but waited for a marathon to run on the “Antique” channel… (Yeah, Grandma… I’m talkin’ to you!) – It doesn’t feel good, to know that instead of buying that expensive copy of “Pat Boone sings just like Pat Boone singing Charo’s interpretation of Pee Wee Herman’s Greatest Hits”, you just had to wait to get it off of the radio…no, the truth hurts, doesn’t it? -So instead of just thinking about how you feel after a long hard day, because you’re too lazy to buy another copy, think about how good it will feel, to help another person save their millions… who knows? They just might notice and remember… maybe even say thank you…. and even if not, just do it for the children…..

Somehow 46 kids abandoned by their parents to the likes of Tiffany to do anything she wants without oversight seems to much like reality to be amusing. Let’s try a new story!

Maybe we shall learn all that we need to know about the status of the Luann – Quill relationship when Luann sees the drawing of the Australian flag, and she rips it to shreds.

So why not hold a dance for the kids at the library using the decorations they made, preferably before the school dance [so they can make sure the decorations are working ;-) ]? The kids get a party with the music they like, and the school gets cheap but happy labor. (Maybe open the library an hour before, or put up signage warning patrons PIP – Party In Progress from 10 am to noon.)

And “You Keep Me Hanging On” by the Supremes, and Kim Wilde– Also “Live To Tell” by Madonna – “Confessions part II” by Usher – “Confessions part III” by Weird Al Yankovic (A hilarious parody, using Usher’s song as the fodder…)

Tiff needs to get fired from this job, but she will come out smelling like a rose. Luann needs to invite the parents to the dance to see what their kids have done, then have Tiff tell why she used ‘child labor’ for the decorations.

We’re missing the red-shirted little girl today— hope she didn’t have an accident with the scissors and get… [wait for it]… red shirted.*Wouldn’t it be wild if Lu & Tiff became teachers, those three little girls became a second set of heroines, and the strip became known as “Luann: The Next Generation”?

Ox will be Tiffany’s date, probably. After all, she has to be there, so that the other girls can make fun of her. Remember, this whole strip is basically Gunther’s – er, Greg’s “Revenge of the Nerds” fantasy.

During the 1970s, there was a syndicated game show, “Liar’s Club”. Larry Hovis (Sgt. Carter from “Hogan’s Heroes”) was one of the regulars on the panel of 4. The panel was given an object and asked to identify it. A pair of contestants were then asked to determine which of the four actually correctly identified the object..

Of course! Liar’s Club I recall Nancy Kulp (Miss Hathaway on Beverly Hillbillies) being a panelist at one point. It would appear there’s a bit of “nepotism” going on there, Allen! ;-)

Speaking of Hovis, One of Richard Dawson’s pre “Family Fued” gigs was a show called Masquerade Party, where celebrities would have to disguise themselves well enough to be not recognized by other celebrities, who would then ask “What’s my Line” type questions and listen to certain clues, to ascertain the subject’s identity. The Richard Dawson version being a remake of the 50’s original show.

Allen? If you mean Allen Ludden, what connection did he have to Nancy Kulp?

Oops, sorry for the confusion. I was referring to Ludden’s wife Betty White being one of the panelists. :-) White seemed to show up in a lot of Ludden’s shows.

To me, Ludden will, of course, be irrevocably tied to the show Password, and to “Bayer Asprin” commercials. This, and, also the “GE College Bowl.”

About Tiffany leading the children on (to thinking that they will be able to go to the dance)…I am going to feel so sad for them when they find out they won’t be going to the dance after all… Maybe Lu’s kids are also making something and Lu has just gone around the corner to see how things are working out with Tiffany. Obviously they are Not. At least the girls (where are the boys?) are having some fun for the time being. I wonder if Tiffany will realize what a mess she has put into motion… BTW, I’m usually one of the Last posters, does that count? (We are just having fun here with who’s on first and why is someone else on second and how about fair to middlin’)…its getting too late here, my mind is imploding LOL … ;)

Worked as a librarian for awhile (public library) – we would hold kids’ parties in the basement reading room where we could sing and dance and act out our favorite parts of books. Then again, this was one of the Carnegie donation libraries – imposing Grecian edifice and columns, one-story building with 18-foot ceilings, built pre-airconditioning. Some of the best days of my youth.
