I don’t like when Christians use the phrase, “Love the sinner, hate the sin”. That sounds judgmental to me. What should be said is, “Love the sinner, hate YOUR OWN sin.”
Then again this could be a psychological ploy on Calvin’s part. By preparing dad to expect a felony he may go easier on Calvin when he finds out it’s only a misdemeaner.
It’s often cited by those who do not think homosexuality is okay, but don’t want to go as far as to socially discriminate against gays, or deny them rights.
