I get annoyed when the scouts and various sports teams offer to pack my bags in the supermarket. These brats have parents who should be contributing to trips abroad and new sports kit, not me.
Not all scouts, sports teams, etc come from rich parents. I came from a family of 5 kids and we didn’t have the money for each of us to have our own activity. Fundraisers like that are the only way some of us were able to do anything.

More effective than what they usually have the cashiers say to solicit donations during checkout…. for best results add a little puppy, as well!…..

Here in Calgary, Canada I’ve seen this actually done a few times at Safeway. Except the boy/girl representing the cause does the asking.

FYI, this never works when the poor little kid is a grown man claiming to be an out of work Sherpa cartoonist.

I always paid for my children’s activities. I never begged other people for money. No one should have more kids than they can support on their income.
