Global warming doesn’t affect when trees change. It’s the shorter days that cause it

The reason I don’t believe in global waming is several year ago they said we would be in the middle of a global cooling right now. Than they said it was going to be something else now its a global warming in another 10 to 20 years from now they well say it well be some thing else all together.

Fall may come later, but the leaves turn early due to acid rain. Between the two of them, we come out even.

At the beginning of the current hysteria over Global warming, the claim was this warming was the first after 10,000 years of static temperature. A flat lie. Look up the Medieval warming, Little Ice Age. Is our planet warming? Could be, but I’m not convinced Humans are the main cause. The planet climate shifts all the time over very long periods of time and has done so before we came along. We’d do better to spend our resources in coping with changes in climate than the current idealogical hype.

What part of Baltimore metro are you in? Where I am, I have leaves not just turning, but falling all over the place. And I’m north and east, where historically the change comes later than in western MD.

    A very brief rebuttal:

The most recent Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, Climate Change 2013: The Physical Science Basis regards the underlying basis of global warming to be human caused, upgraded from a 90% to a 95% certainty.

A succinct explanation of the meaning of consensus in science, the use of which term has garnered me a measure of criticism, can be found in a commentary on the IPCC report by Steven Novella, skeptic and leading proponent of rational and scientific thought: New IPCC Report on Climate Change
