Crossing the country on wires? That’s silly. Everyone knows they took the Interstates.

Yup. In the old days it was the only way to get to school. Walk the high wire. It was nice in the summer. Those warm breezes & sunshine. But winter? It was up hill to school and the snow was almost as high as the wire. Had to be careful or end up like Bob. Ol’ Bob slipped one snowy morning. See he had been trying to run to school. Everyone knows you dont run wire. But he did. Saw him slip. The snow swallowed him whole. Bit by bit. Muffling his screams for help. Silence only after he hit bottom. Yup. Hit bottom. Had to stay there all winter. When the snow finally melted – Bob was still there. A liitle freezed dried kid. .Used Ol’ Bob as a garden gnome for years. Then I think the squirrels ran off with him.
