no one like to be told to do something, yet we (mostly) follow traffic laws, don’t steal, don’t kill, and otherwise act as socially responsible people.
I also liked what @chireef said. My law profs would have added that there is Natural law and man-made law. Sometimes it bugs me when we insist on trying to make the latter impose on the former.
If you think ObamACAre is being paid for by the wealthiest, you haven’t been paying attention. The explicit plan is that by forcing currently uninsured healthy people to buy insurance under penalty of law, there will be enough money to pay for the currently uninsurable. That’s the theory. In practice you can be sure that the “wealthiest” of us will turn out to be the middle class.
Say God forbid something terrible happens to you. Suddenly you’re looking at a very unaffordable Hospital bill & no insurance to help pay for it. The only out you have is bankruptcy & then taxpayers are on the hook to help cover the difference. Like Auto insurance which is mandatory in most states so should be healthcare.
That might work out better, but “Obamacare” is just giving even more money to the big insurance companies and healthcare chains that already charge 3 or more times what the cost is in other advanced countries. It’s feeding the bears
We’re just telling gags here. We’re not writing editorials. There’s a place for everything. People aren’t going to effect much change by posting their rants or lectures on a comic strip comments page.
We need responsibly run unions, that strive for their original goal: to protect the worker from exploitation. Unfortunately, the wrong people got in charge, greed overtook the system, and now many unions are exploitive.
RR, you’ve used this false argument before. I call it the Soviet Pickle Fallacy. “Eef glorious Soviet seestem does not produce peeckles, there vood be no peekles.” I question your knowledge of economic history.

Debate is great as long as everybody stays relatively civil.

Politics are bad enough without adding them to this comic strip.
