She’s trying to prepare you for marriage, as #6 said. That woman will try harder.

I love you – but I want everyone else to love you too.

Yes, because if I didn’t love you I wouldn’t care if you got better or not.

ALLAN- I thought you wrote “she’s trying to prepare you for marriage #6 . . .” Different, but the same!

Sarah’s face expression in the last panel says it all.

I have decided not to marry again! My first two marriages ended without being hate-filled and I still have contact with those exes. My third wife tried to do me in in my sleep, and that has left me with too deep emotional scars (the other healed and are almost invisible today…), so now I can never again trust someone that much as I once did. I still have good OLD friends which I trust as much as I ever did before, but have since found close relatives being really nasty characters (not causing me myself any trouble) able of both bodily and monetary harm to other innocent victims. So today I am quite suspicious of any new “friend” (and still have the final verdict open on a lot of old ones…).

I read this strip yesterday, before bed. All I could think of was “you’re right. I don’t love you Toby. Eddie is the favourite child. I’m trying to make you better. That way we can get more in trade for you on the open market.”
