Rose is Rose by Don Wimmer and Pat Brady for November 17, 2013
Transcript:
Jimbo: ....and you control the steering by pulling to the left or the right. Pasquale: That sounds easy, Daddy! Jimbo: Look at our resourcefulness! With a few scraps of lumber, some rope and the wheels off of your old red wagon...you are the proud owner of a gumbo-kart! Jimbo: A helmet and seat belt will ensure a safe ride! Jimbo: Old-fashioned fun...and we built it with our own hands! Clem: That certainly makes one yearn for a simpler time.

Oh Clem you little buzz kill. Your dad didn’t help build that so you won’t have memories like Pasquale will have so there you little brat.

In Halethorpe/Arbutus, Maryland they still have a soap box derby every 4th of July. I lived near the top of the hill and still have wonderful memories of the look on each child’s face as they sat in their home-made cart at the starting line. And there was not one “Clem” in the bunch!!!

This reminds me of the “IT” vehicle invented by Mr. Garrison on “South Park.” I wonder if it has the same main control.

It’s more fun if it has a motor in it.

Spoiled overindulged kids like Clem are the sociopaths of the future – I’m glad that Rose and Jimbo are keeping it real!

In the twenty-something years that I have been reading this strip, that is the coolest gizmo that I have seen. But it’s not the first time that Clem has upped the ante with some serious gear.
