One of the best sight gags on TV was by Cliff Arquette as Charlie Weaver on the Dinah Shore Show. He was pouring her some coffee (actually cold fudge syrup). The pot was in the pouring position for at least five seconds (seemed longer) before the first liquid emerged, and took as long to reach the cup. Then he took some scissors and cut off the flow.
