I forgot what Opal’s sister’s name is since she hasn’tbeen on here in a while.

She said “good” fruitcake.

Saw that shot coming a mile away.

Johnny Carson use to say, that there was only one fruitcake. And it got passed all over the country, from family to family.

Earl or a fruitcake, they’d both make good door stops.

If a fruitcake is made properly it really can be quite delicious. I have several recipes that are very tasty. That awful doorstop that is supposed to pass for fruitcake at Christmas is not what I’m talking about.

Earl, like a good fruit cake, adds a little spice to Opal’s life.

I remember a slice a fruitcake a friend gave me some 40 years ago,best i ever had.his grandmother made it.i never had fruitcake that was as good again.

Sometimes women who have lost their husbands find it self-satisfying to insult the husbands of other women. No doubt she speaks of her late husband as a saint on earth, when actually everybody knows he was a lazy bum.

Sure it is! They can be annoying OR so much fun, all depends on your acceptance of who they are. ;)

We drool over the Texas fruitcake ads every year, but no can do. We risk nearly fatal heartburn if we eat one, and who can stop at one slice?

I use the term " He’s a coconut " not a fruitcake…( unless he IS A FRUIT cake ).

Obviously most of you have never had a fruitcake from Collin Street Bakery in Texas.

There’s nothing wrong with loving a fruitcake – just ask my wife.

Fruitcake is very rich and sweet so you only need a small piece. With a cup of coffee it makes a very good snack. As for Earl, he’s not rich or sweet so he can’t be a fruitcake.

It helps to soak it in rum, or Southern Comfort. Also to put in good quality dried fruits. If done right, fruitcake is delicious. My recipe is not called “fruitcake”. It is Southern Whiskey cake. Yummy!

Me too, Opal. I love fruitcake. All the haters don’t bother me. It just leaves more fruitcake for me. I would always get extra fruitcake that my mother-in-law would make for people who didn’t want it.

Fruitcakes I can take em’ or leave em’..But give me a plate of carrot cake…NOW were talking!

I love fruit cake if it’s made right.

Better to be married to a fruitcake than to a fruit.

Put some fruitcake in a bowl, pour milk over it, eat. It is amazing.
