Better NOT absent-mindedly take the ladder back to the garage (or the neighbors’ garage) once Opal is completely on the roof.

Every firefighter’s nightmare. Having to throw and fat old lady over your shoulder and take her down the ladder.

Many years ago while living at home, I acquired a puppy with the idea of indulging in obedience competition. She was an exceptionally bright and charming character, and one day I came into our Florida room to find my mother plastered up against the wall just around the corner, with her finger to her lips.

Bearing in mind that my mother’s simple, non negotiable pet policy was, sure you can have it. You feed, water, train, exercise it, police it’s quarters – sure, no problem. So I was taken aback to find her there, finger to her lips. I mouthed at her ’what’s going on?’ and she whispered back ’I’m playing hide and seek with Puppy’.

Well … she had been, against all odds. But the puppy had moved on to Bigger Things! rotfl!

Opal could “be down with that”, real soon.

Climbing a ladder in a house dress? No good can come from this, especially coming down.

It may well have been a woman who invented the ladder. What do we know?

I love Pickles. However, I hate it when that poor grammar of “where you’re at” is perpetuated! "Where you are " is fine and perfectly natural.
