Is any one else reading this strip with the voice of the guy from The Lucy Show? With that kind of Yeeeeees tone to him? I’ll find a youtube clip if I need an example but he is reminding me of that guy.

I was thinking more in terms of “The Great Gildersleeve” aka Harold Peary.Gale Gordon is the guy from the Lucy shows.Mel Blanc was on “The Jack Benny Program”, he also was the sound of Jack’s Maxwell automoble..They all resemble each other.Source IMDb.\\//_

I am most glad I am too old to have suffered from the early back to school sales. What a way to pour water on a summer vacation.

I say don’t go shopping on that Thanksgiving weekend. But I’m sure there are people who will go to the stores anyway. And the ones that really suffer are the store employees who have to leave their families or not go at all because they have to work. And some stores are going to open on Thanksgiving later in the day just to get a head start on those so-called sales.

I love that Black Friday now starts on Thanksgiving, a time when we’re supposed to be with loved ones and some poor souls have to go to work or risk their jobs. Better yet, did you hear about the Wal-Mart in Ohio that has out food collection bins for their associates? Since the store doesn’t pay their employees enough to buy food, it’s now up to the customers to make sure that they have a nice Thanksgiving.

My most recent Black Friday purchases were a bag of birdseed from the locally owned A&C Feeds (where for all I know A rang me up and C carrried it to my car, or vice versa) and ordering a book for my wife at City News (also locally owned).
