Actors are “individual Contractors” who participate in a “union”, just as sports players do, and are guaranteed preference over non-members and certain BASIC MINIMUM wage scale…along with collectively managed benefits (pensions, etc.) common & available to all. Ronald Reagan served in Executive capacities for the SAG in 1941 and 1947 – 1952 – most of which time he was a Democrat. Your point is specious and your ‘proof’, without merit.
