I would agree that the Redskins should change their name.

I don’t mind the commentary on team names, but smearing the reputations of the vast majority of professional and semi-professional athletes who are law abiding decent people because of the actions of small handful is, dare I say it, the action of a bigot.

It would have been a far more trenchant commentary would have attacked the team owners (who are responsible for the names of teams) who routinely block changes to the rules of play that cause high rates of concussions and long term injuries to players.

Also, Bolling, your white privilege is showing when you dog whistle about athletes.

Football is way too macho. I understand the game and used to watch it, but the seem to be hired for their ruthlessness. Maybe they Need a Ruth or two.

I think Snyder should change the team name to the Washington Whiteskins. That way you can still use the term “Skins”, Or " Crackers when they are losing. This way no one would be offended because it is not possible to be racist against White folks

Yeah, I bet most of them are good people. However, as a group they have a reputation for getting away with murder, because enough of them do, because the bad ones aren’t held accountable.

If pro athletes players want to improve their reputation, they should push for the convictions of the bad actors in their own ranks. They have a bad reputation in part because they get away scot-free for their misdeeds. If the bad actors are punished properly, there’s a chance they’d clean up their act.
