Here is a pic of my conure who is named Sunday the Conure. Sunday is very loving and fun. Every other bird with a beak is fine, yeah. But whenever Sunday comes you can find me smilin’ all of the time! Do you see Sund’’s shadow? He looks like a dinosaur, lol! I was hoping with your first hand knowledge would you happen to know what kind of dinosaur?
The one on the 10th, that Patty is invited to, along with the Shemps, and Ma, and other family and everyday friends….the folks who are used to the cheap paper plates, Dollar Store cookies, and Crust Foods Cheapskate™ Coffee.
On the 9th, they’ve invited a half-dozen of the local elite, the ones whose parties Joy wants to be asked to attend.
For so few people, they’ll serve the Folgers and the genuine Oreos…. and use the good paper plates…. even the Chinet.
Which means a lonely birthday for Burl when none of the guests show up…..but then again…. more Oreos for him too.
And right, Mom, order your daughter to buy dear old Dad a present.Which he threatens to return if you dare get him the wrong thing.
When I was Patty’s age, a working student, my parents got more upset if I spent my money on them than if I didn’t.
No one commented on Burl’s shirt – his version of tri-athletics,snacks, beer and TV. I thought that was a highlight for today as I could not read the rest of Joy’s scribbles on the calendar.

The calendar says his birthday party is the 9th.
Is he having two?

How about some extra rocks to refill his brain?

Burl’s a real piece of work, isn’t he? Sad thing is, I know a couple people with that self-same mindset. Jerks!

BTW you can see by the calendar that there’s no continuity in this strip or relevance to current dates, holidays or events,
Unless Joy happens to dig out an old Christmas strip, say, to re-work or re-run at close to the right season.
