I used to go to Norway a lot. In July, you can sit on a park bench at midnight and read a newspaper with the ambient light alone. Between that and the jet lag, it drove my internal clock nuts.

Second the motion on Scandinavian summer. Walking back to the hotel from a restaurant in Oslo at 11:45 in dusk, no streetlights. Copenhagen, Denmark, families with children (including us) having pastry and tea and coffee in the Tivoli gardens at midnight.

I find it fascinating that precisely when we are going through the shortest days of the winter all you guys decided to point out the longest days of the summer. I guess you may all be getting a little SAD?

I’m thinking of 10 or 11 am. No traffic, but the wind may be chilly.

Why can’t Frazz run in a neighborhood with no kids? What am I missing? Merry Christmas ! :-)

Maybe he means that if Frazz runs later all the kids will be opening their presents and he would miss them. He HAS chosen to work at a school w/lots of kids.

Ah, the sun comes up at 8 a.m. (where he is), but all the living-room lights come on at 5:30 and light up the running path for him?

I want it to be that Frazz wants to run in the dark (I think the moon is high in the early morning this year) but I just can’t make it feel right. I don’t get it.

I think the key word is “peaceful.” After 5:30 the kids are up and nowhere is peaceful!
