Bring our troops home, and see what kind of bribe the Taliban gives him.

Karzai is Condi’s pet. While he picked the members of the Loya Jirga, most Afghans hate him. Take him out of Kabul, and dump him alongside the road. Let the Afghans handle him.

Kick us out of Afghanistan PLEASE..Besides President Obama can continue to listen in and rain down death from above, just like all future presidents can with the leadership he showed in the matter..IT’S ALL GOOD

Without drones, there would be boots on the ground, with many thousands more killed. Also, Obama didn’t invent drones. They were around before 2008 and they will be around in 2016. Personally, I do believe we should get out Afghanistan and hope that will happen soon. However, I don’t have all the info of a US prez.

Times are tough. Even the Red Rascal’s advances are now gift certificates for Amazon and Albertson’s.

the MIlitary/Corporate Welfare Complex needs Karzai/Loya Jurga to keep Afghanistan a “theatre” for as long as possible. they certainly don’t spend money here in America.isn’t that why we elect Congress? to keep the Military Corporate Complex going?

So conservatives will now defend “American citizens” who are known enemy combatants so long as Obama is the one dealing with them. Those American citizens who were killed by drones were not Boy Scouts…

Is that a picture of Red Rascal/Jeff on her wall? Does she have a crush with (one of) him?

Obama and his Sec of State have suggested that the drone program should be part of DoD and therefore subject to military motivations and disclosure, rather than the covert intelligence program it is now. Agree or disagree with their decisions, recognize that they struggle with the moral and legal framework of the program as it exists. Will the next Pres be so discerning?

If we can’t have red beret girl as nanny, it is at least nice to see Becca back in the strip.

I dunno, a fantasy inside a fantasy seems kinda cool. Just as a fake warrior with fake victories inside a fake war with fake victories is nice. As is a false warrior giving false money to a false president.

I believe you’ve mistaken the US’s agreeing to provide financial support to Pakistan, which used the funds to train the mujahadeen who were fighting the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, for outright support of what later became the Taliban. Pakistan and its intelligence services feared that the Soviet Union would invade them next, so they saw a necessity to create proxies to fight the battle in Afghanistan.

NG You say Pakistan set up the Taliban and you say USA set up the Taliban? I have known several fine people from Pakistan, but never confused them with USA. Or do you think because we have dealings with a nation, we are essentionally them and they are us?

I never said it is always justifiable to kill people who are accused of doing bad things. I said that there are enemy combatants who are known to be out there in the world determined to kill Americans. But I don’t know why I am attempting to explain it since you are determined to argue based on straw man arguments and taking cheap shots.

You did not say we set up the Taliban in this comment stream. You said it was our ally. What did they do for us and what did we do for them? What was the basis of our alliance?.Did we support those who opposed the imperialism of the USSR? Yes, we did.. Was the Taliban part of the opposition? Not that I can see. From what I read at the time, they moved in after the USSR did the wise thing and withdrew..al qaeda killed Americans. The Taliban protected them and gave them a base of operations. And, yes, those two groups certainly seem allied with Pakistani government elements so we are looking at a ticking time bomb, one with nuclear explosives. So, YES, we should git while the gittin’ ‘s good knowing our days are numbered no matter who’s president.
