Maybe Toys for Tots or the bemused preacher at their church will step in and make Agnes’s and Grandma’s Christmas a little better.Hey I just realized something, Mr. Cochran, look how much you have us caring about your cartoon character.
Granny is a tough old bird. Wish her well. The strip has never said exactly where she works. But I get the impression that it’s not a white collar/desk job.

She still works, now what? Its going to be an austere Christmas, not even socks. Poor Agnes, poor Grandma.

I’ve never seen you new before – great line. Grandma trying to be brave for her little one… bless her heart…

Of course brand new would be a new-born, so Agnes would have a very interesting experience.Up and about will be good enough until they cure aging.

No charge in Canada, although she may have to wait a year or two.

As funny as a heart attack.

It would be interesting to see what would happen in the strip if Granny passes. But I feel like she’ll pull through. At least I hope so.
As an aside, have we ever been told what happened to Agnes’ parents?

Sounds like Granny may be needing an angioplasty procedure. Those aren’t too bad – I know from experience.

I was thinking Grandma worked in a laundry. Don’t know how I got that impression.

Fear not..If she doesn’t pull through, you’ll find someone else to praise for his or her selfless devotion to Agnes.

Sometimes just having the angioplasty fixes things enough that no surgery is required.

I always figured Grannie worked as 1) dishwasher, 2) housekeeping at a hotel or 3) works in a factory – assembly line or such.
