Phoebe and Her Unicorn by Dana Simpson for December 09, 2013
Transcript:
Dad: Instead of a regular tree, we should decorate a binary tree. Ha ha ha. See, that's funny becuase it's a programming term. They have PARENT NODES and CHILD NODES. Phoebe: Oh. 'm going outside. Dad: Fare thee well, child node! Phoebe: My dad speaks "nerd." Marigold: It is good to be bilingual.

To be fully representative, it should have 10 parent nodes and 1 child node..(Binary counting: 1, 10, 11, 100, 101, …)

Yes it is good to be bilingual. a bilingual bipedal. He could go tell his joke to Jason Fox. Insert temperately relevant pop culture joke to What does the Fox say here)
Still I do want to sit at my Nintendo with him and talk over some games. I mean right now All I got going for me is my HN and O&M influenced shop on Scribblenauts and whatever I been foraging from Harvest Moon New Beginnings where I named my white horse Marigold. but I think we can build on that and when I get it, we can hit the Smash Bros together. Or maybe I’ll get him, me and MaxofFewTrades in on a beard contest. Hows that for a joke almost no one will get?

Is this anything like a decision tree? How about a set of jiggle bells for Marigold?

There are 10 kinds of people in the world — those who understand binary, and those that don’t.

The problem is when the other part doesn’t understand the other language.

At least he wasn’t joking about a process tree.

The problem with languages is that they’re not like numbers. Numbers have a logical progression whether binary, decimal, or hexadecimal. Languages can have common roots but not always and maybe some of the same roots but some roots from different places so it’s not as easy to learn a new one. There might have been a point, but probably not. I’m just bitter I don’t know more than one language but I get number systems.
