Once again, the bunny is muddying whatever message Scott is trying to send..Yes, I am a liberal..Yes, this is (historically, at least) a conservative strip..But the bunny, who is supposed to embody all things evil, has just shot us a line right out of Doonesbury!.Corporations are people! What’s tomorrow? Free speech is money?.Oh, silly me! That was yesterday!.It is still my opinion that Scott was doing a far better job using Carmen and Winslow as a sort of Pogo-and-Albert, Calvin-and-Hobbes duo, talking about the world around them..Thank goodness he still does that on Sunday!

It’s interesting that the liberals ignore the fact that the recent decision they go on so much about also applies to their beloved labor unions (and every other form of association). Read Wiki on “Corporate Personhood” for a good description that the concept goes back a long way and with good reason.

Corporations are dead. The legal principle of Mort-Main or Dead Hand allows the work of the founder to go on after the founder is dead.

Yeah, how much time did BP get for willful neglect resulting in the deaths of the men on the drilling rig in the Macondo field in the Gulf of Mexico.

And corporations are out-voted by unions by how much?… as if the power of unions comes from their union dues. But more to the point, I advocate a separation of government and economics, so the government has no power to bestow favors on corporations, unions, or anyone. Then there’d be no reason to lobby (or bribe or coerce) a government official. And without the ability to bestow gifts on supporters and penalties on enemies, the power-lusters and fame-seekers would have to go somewhere else, not into government. But then I’m sure you disagree.

Are you perhaps using “liberal” in its 19th century meaning of pro-freedom, pro-capitalism, pro-gold-standard, as before the Progressives usurped and corrupted the word? Because otherwise you don’t make any sense to me. Who are these liberals of whom you speak? And by the way, I am NOT a conservative. As for reading you, I read you whenever you post on a comic I follow…just like I read almost everyone.
