I agree with Satch, I think he was killed on his first voyage, but was so popular that they used a time travel plot hole to bring him back for the second.

Well, the booby does land really funny and seemingly almost randomly. Maybe Captain Cook got fowled out?

I bet the entire point of this strip was to use “booby” without being censored. Just like the Russian protest band took their name only to get Hillary Clinton to say “pussy” in public.

This reminds me of a certain world leader’s reference to a Navy Corpse-man.

Since Capt. Cook was killed on land and buried at sea, you could say that his last voyage took place after his death.

Captain James Cook made three trips to the South Seas before being killed in Hawaii. So it should be safe to assume he was killed on the third voyage, except in Satchel’s world.
