and just what is wrong with the baby green cabbages? I like them a lot and use them quite often when I can get them at decent price.

    Or a patch of ramps.

(if you’re not from Appalachia, look it up…or better yet, try some!)

Brussell sprouts, only as good as the mountain of garlic breadcrumbs that cover them.

Ah! This is another example of Americans never becoming adults. Adults love Brussels Sprouts!

The only veggies I won’t eat are okra (sorry, only time I tasted it, it was slimy and disgusting) and sweet peppers (unless roasted and peeled, as am sensitive to something in peel).

Brussels sprouts are nasty if overcooked (like spinach or broccoli) but are okay if carefully cooked… good with the right seasoning.

Brussels sprouts are delicious when they aren’t overcooked. Overcooking makes them taste like sulfur.

“what kind of fiend would cook spinach?”.

Chinese buffets around have grilled spinach with cheese. It is good. Raw is good on my veggie delite at Subway.

“Broccoli is loaded with calcium, far more than in milk.”.As much as I like Brussels Sprouts they don’t beat milk.,Perhttp://www.osteopenia3.com/Calcium-Foods.html

,Brussels sprouts,1 cup 46 mg CalciumNon-fat Milk 1 cup, 300 mg Reduced fat Milk 1 cup, 300 mg Nonfat Yogurt 1 cup, 490 mg (tasty too). From farther down the list:,Mustard Spinach 1 cup 315 mg(That would beat milk, barely.)

That is funny. My son loved cauliflower until he went to school where he learned not to like vegetables. Not sure if it was peer pressure or just terrible cafeteria food. I didn’t learn to like any of the cruciferous vegetables until I tried cooking them myself. Itty-bitty brussel sprouts are tasty when barely cooked and dipped in creamy Italian dressing.

To us Europeans the sentence “Brussel sprouts” lacks the ending “bureaucrazy”.

I like the taste but have read it is not completely digestible so we are actually getting less iron than we think.
