I though the sweatbands were supposed to be purple?

I don’t care what colour the sweatbands. That is a seriously cute Satchel.

A dog is color blind, so purple they may appear to him.

Colorists get about 10 minutes to color a daily strip….

That is, they get paid for about an hour to do a 6-day week of them.

Some color just one title, some earn a few hours pay by working on on several…. but they certainly can’t quit their day jobs.

They usually do it cos they love comics, so they may spend more time if they don’t mind it lowering their already not very high hourly rate… but sometimes… obviously….they can’t even squeeze in two minutes to read the strip.

As in… “Purple? Who knew?”

What exercise is he doing here? The hover? How strenuous can that be?

The issue of dog color recognition was addressed in one of the larger collections. I’d have to dig out my Get Fuzzy books to be sure which one, but I distinctly remember that in a line of ‘dog facts’ strips. There was also a line of ‘cat facts’ in that book.

This is an old strip from 2005, and I own the book it is in.

Haters gonna hate Satchel, you just keep up the good work! (You might get a little respite if you come down on Bucky once or twice, that should keep him quiet for a little while)
