Well, you didn’t hear it coming, Calvin. What other explanation can there be?

I love it when the hit jerks Calvin right out of his shoes!! Hobbes has quite a wind-up!

God will get you, Hobbes, O perfidious quadruped!

It was fast blew Calvin right off his feet.

It’s good, Hobbes used snow and not something harder!

Did you know when you snap your fingers, that sound is your fingernails breaking the sound barrier?

No, no it really isn’t.

I never before noticed that Hobbes was a lefty. Huh. Stands to reason when you think of it.

Hobbes: “Calvin, I’m sorry.”Calvin: “Sorry? For what?”H: "For this! (Hobbes smears slush into Calvin’s face!)C: (Blpt, pppfft!)H: “Hey, I SAID I was sorry, what else do you want me to say?!” (while sticking his tongue out at Calvin!)

Between Moe, Susie, and Hobbes, poor Calvin is going to be punch-drunk by the time he’s 15.

Technically, Calvin just hit himself with a snowball. Sorry. I’ll stop acting like an adult now.

Preemptive attack!

Agree that it looks like Hobbes threw with his right hand, but both he and Calvin are lefties (as are most all comic characters—it’s easier to draw that way and still keep the motion running left to right).

Perhaps because Lefties (like myself) are sometimes referred to as “South Paws” and Hobbes, being a Tiger, has four Paws, all of which are due south when in four footed mode…. I COULD be wrong however! :-)

Now you know how Suzie feels.

There’s a reason why Hobbes is my favorite of the two. It’s not like Calvin doesn’t have his good moments, but to me Hobbes got all the wittier lines.

Well you need to check out Feb 14 2014, before making stupid assumptions! None so blind as those who cannot see!

If his Head is considered Up or “Due North” then his paws are Down or “Due South” Look at any compass illustration for clarification…Tigers normally walk on all Fours Hence Four “South Paws” …. The Point, however, is entirely Moot since Panel 1 clearly shows Hobbes delivering his Sound Barrier breaking Snowball with His Right Hand.. :-)
