    This makes much sense as somebody drinking a diet soda/pop with a piece of cake or pie.

    I worked in a Cafe that sold a lot of pizza .A large pizza with the works with A DT. coke never could get that

    Funny thing is that also the diet products send the message “here comes something sweet” to the body, that’s why insulin is produced…and not used. The body reacts with hunger and you eat just as much, perhaps even more. Allergological side effects of artificial sweeteners left aside…

    I really miss my first half century of consuming scads of junk food without any adverse effects or remorse whatsoever.

    I’m now living out my cottage cheese and yogart era. Sigh.

    And then there’s the soda pop which nothing but a cup of sugar! And all this time I thought it was Hollywood that was making me feel like I could explode at the end of an action packed movie!
