Brother bought a coconutHe brought it for a dimeHis sister had another one She paid it for the lime. She put the lime in the coconut. She drank them both upShe called the doctor, woke him up, and saidDoctor aint there nothing I can take I said to relieve this belly ache. Now let me get this straight You put the lime in the coconut you drink them both upYou such a silly woman.Put the lime in the coconut and drink them both togetherAND you call me in the morning I will tell you what to do.Yes you call me in the morning and I tell you what to do.Harry Nilsson 1971 Nilsson Schmilsson.I took the cassette tape to Viet Nam in 72.
Talking of coconuts….. aThai friend laughs when he sees the coconuts in our supermarkets as they are small, brown and look about 50 years old. He says they should be green and full of liquid.
Well, I researched the Kahlua colada (and would have shared the recipes if I found one really intriguing) but anything nearly that sweet is strictly for dessert, and my regular fave is Kahlua and Presidente (or either in my expresso coffee after dinner).
I have yet to see what foods and drinks my new friend enjoys when I finish with my vegetarian year as he has thusfar refused to indulge in any that I could not share (although I assured him that I’d enjoy whatever he was drinking, not entirely vicariously – as I have very sensitive taste, in his kisses). He has cooked vegetarian pasta and soups at his house and eaten mine here (having nothing different except 1% milk – and I think my almond milk is yummier). His favorite tipple is and he does NOT like gin, but now has some at his house for me, so my next trip to the liquor store will include the above, but he is also partial to rum, and (as my parents were also, I have a good assortment of those.
@Bev, the story of the 10’ monument for the chickens is totally silly (much as I think some backyard chickens that I know to be lovely clean pets, of a sort-they are still, ultimately FOOD).
The adjoining story (I lost Stel’s instructions for attacing the way you did). of the statue of the man in “tighty whiteys” at Wellsley I understand how it could be disconcerting to the students. I have 2 female maniquins (bought resale and used to display some of my gowns) sometimes startled me when entering a room back when I first brought them home. Seeing a man in that ominous pose at dawn or dusk could be worrisome to students hurrying across campus. LOL!
Hmm, X, That concoction of yours sounds interesting. I am going to be careful about drinking tho’ – since I haven’t touched anything for a year.
Just as I also need to be careful about the quantity of meat and cheese in particular. I DID cheat just a little and made some blue cheese dressing for the romaine that accompanied our pasta last week; he uses some honey and Worcestershire in it. I used to use sour cream but now always substitute Greek yogurt. We enjoyed.
@Happy, the little rodent in the coconut looks happy, but I wouldn’t mind if a hawk caught that.
