I remember a purse I bought (probably about the time this Peanuts was first published) with a note that said “Inspected by Essie Pringle”. I loved that name; it was so classic, I could almost picture the sweet lady inspector.
Nope, Lays would have sued her if she tried retiring in chips instead of crisps. And they would get the US Food and Drug Administration on her for I too.
Haven’t seen an “inspected by” tag in a long time. I’m sure it’s encoded in the cryptic serial numbers that usually come sewn with the care tag/brand label, but I like to think the factory owners decided it’s a waste of time and paper.
@Snoopy_FanHello. Thank you very much for your comment on Friday. I appreciated it more than you’ll ever know. I am glad the weather has been lovely for you. I hope you are enjoying yourself!-I have some upsetting news. We lost one of our Cappers last night. She had the username ‘Linda Dean’ but recently changed it to ‘Wet & Soggy’ Her friend Ruth was posting under her username keeping us updated on how Linda was doing. Linda was in hospital after catching a cold which lead to pneumonia and then as the days went by she had a mini stroke. She was also a sufferer of MS and had a heart attack in January.-Linda died last night. We’ve lost our first Capper. She was only 61.-I’ve been crying most of the day. She was so lovely to everyone. I will treasure her last post to me forever. -I’m so sorry for all this sad news. Us Cappers have been grieving together and I will never forget her. I said a few words of my own if you wish to check it out. It’s my 3rd comment on Andy Capp.-Take care, Snoopy_Fan, I want to say under the circumstances that our friendship means the world to me.((((((Hugs & Kisses))))))♥♥♥

What ever made you think that, Chuck? It’s a good thing Lucy didn’t hear you say all that. I can just sense the laughter.

I’d like to say to Charlie Brown (as Charles Shultz) that it would work out someday, but we already know the truth.

Perhaps that is the redheaded girl’s nickname.

Today the note would read: “Help, I’m trapped on a Chinese clothing factory as a child slave”.

I’m happy that Charlie Brown doesn’t give up hope…but frightened by how quickly he loses all touch with reality.

It’s worse than you know, Chuck… inspector 83 is a total slacker; your sweater is going to unravel within 24 hours.
