Transcript:
Gene: Hi, Mom! What's up?
Janis: Your father's thinking about combing his hair differently!
Janis: I'll send you a picture!
Gene: It comes out of the blue! That moment you know your folks are getting old!
It’s a matter of degree. I met a Harley rider in his late 40s who told me his wife called his new bike his mid life crisis machine. I told him to tell his wife that buying a new Harley was a sign of success at his age, but that having a 19 year old girlfriend riding behind him on it would be evidence of the midlife crisis.C.
A while back Gene texts Mom “call me” ; Now Mom calls to let Gene know she is texting pic……I asked woman the other day how she liked her new oversized phone…….Fantastic she replied…….except the phone part is a bit awkward
@duemore4u: Apple has been reluctant to make a bigger iPhone because Steve Jobs thought smaller was better. He maintained that a smaller smart phone is easier to navigate with one hand. It is. One can hold the phone and use the thumb to open apps.
I don’t have the same hairstyle now that I did at five, and there’s a little less of it. (More forehead and a small bald spot at my crown.) However, it’s the same color now that I’m 64 as it was back then, and it’s all natural; no dye needed.
I am sorry, of course, that my 40 and 50ish aged children have arthritis pains in various places; but to listen to the children swapping symptoms amuses me no end.

Don’t worry, Gene. Senility hasn’t set in quite yet. You’ll know when it does.

Barber asks me; “Coming in to get your ears lowered, Jim?”“Nope, just to get ’em trimmed!” Breaks up the ‘audience’ every time.

My sons (not boys!) are now 34 and 31. I still think of them as 12 year olds, and sometimes speak to them like they were.

To finally realize your parents have interesting quirks is to finally realize you haven’t been paying attention.

I say to Gene, keep living, you’ll be there one day, and the alternative would not be much fun.

Hey! Many men of Arlo’s age have little or no hair to comb!

Has anyone else noticed that in the last panel, Meg’s legs seem to be missing?
