Probably the state of TexasIt has many refineries and much imported oil enters the USA via Texas..
On the other hand, Louisana has offshore platforms solely for offloading tankers and sending petroleum by pipeline to shore..Would Googleling be cheating?
Crud. Being sick you do not want to know what my eyes and brains thought teach was saying in the first panel. .So I googled. Canada is the 2nd largest oil producer in the world. (I did not know that). And from some chart with data from Sep2011: Canada remained the largest exporter of total petroleum in September, exporting 2,829 thousand barrels per day to the United States. there were more numbers, but I sick. And the numbers were boring..Agnes needs to talk the principal into letting all the kids have iPads or whatevers at they’re desks. Sadly the school probably can’t afford.
True story, I have ADD and in the third grade I wasn’t “there”, in fact if I remember I was roaming the back of the classroom. The teacher had a map of Texas on the board and was talking about the State’s attributes (I’m guessing). She asked the class what Texas is famous for, and I piped up and said “oil”. I don’t know where that came from, I think I learned by osmosis, but I’ll never forget the open mouthed surprise look she gave me. Then i went back to roaming.Shortly thereafter I was given Phenobarbital and put to bed at 5PM. All that did was produce a hopped up kid up all night!
If the pipeline is built. Also, the Canadian tar is still lower carbon per energy output than coal.?The best thing would to build a nuclear reactor there to heat water to heat and move the tar. While at it, they could use superheated steam on the tar to break it down into carbon dioxide and lighter hydrocarbons, cleaner all around. The carbon dioxide would still be a problem but less so than that generated by conventional means..Agnes can lead the way.

So which state is the chief importer of crude oil? Does that question even make any sense? No wonder Agnes tried to change the subject.

Nice try Agnes. Now you can have small talk with the principal.
