On the other hand, Calvin, out on the ball field with Moe, baseballs and bats available….well, accidents will happen.

Damned if he does, damned if he doesn’t. Calvin either faces Moe (school bully) or Coach Lochjaw (dull witted baseball coach).

“If Calvin hates baseball, why do he and Hobbes play it?”-——————————————————-Because he can get a good argument / philosophical discussion going with Hobbes.They sort of frown on that sort of thing in organized sport; they’re more into boring stuff like batting statistics, etc.

Maybe, because, in the old days, kids organized teams sponteaneously, made rules as they went, and it was fun.Then adults stepped in and it bacame win, win win!No longer fun/

In a few years Moe will wish he had all the girls to himself. :-p

Legaleagle seems to have misinterpreted my question from yesterday. I understand perfectly why Calvin doesn’t want to play baseball. What bugs me about the arc is that he’s the ONLY boy who doesn’t want to play, unless others caved to peer pressure as well. Never in all my school years was a grade that uniform.
