That is not a good answer to Mike’s question. It is pure math. Pure chance. Chance does not care if you are a good person or a bad person. It is irrelevant to winning. She should have made her statement utilizing that premise, not the “karma” statement that she gave, giving Mike the impression that being good or bad brings about good or bad “luck”.
@starcandles, I disagree. I was a Rationalist in my teens but became aware of a pervasive personal force in what should have been an impersonal world. The most obvious is the extreme disparity between very close brushes with death among children and the relatively much lower rate of child death… or even grievous injury. I am a recovering math-head but I would never presume sterile statistics rule our lives.
um it’s 3 Clinton, Junior, Obama. Unless you are like me and think 2000 was decided wrongly. I do blame Gore for his loss though. He should have never distanced himself from Clinton. Also third party candidates do effect elections. Nader siphoned off just enough votes in the same way George Senior lost to Clinton because of Ross Poirot.
felinefan55: No, Nader didn’t. His votes came from both registered Democrats and Republicans almost equally, but most came from previously non-voters. A viable third party is the strongest insurance against having one party with two names like we have now. That is why the corporate media will never mention the Green Party even when they are covering it or its candidates in the rare coverage of it at all – just like you did in your comment. The “Brooks Bros mob” that physically attacked the Florida “hanging chad” recount and the “on the Koch Brothers’ public speaking payroll” Supreme Court members, were what defeated Gore. It was not Nader.
Gosh, I think I am a bit late today, missed the original kris bennet post what got everyone so hot under the collar? It surprises me that children actually buy tickets to win a cake, I think the $ would have stayed in my pocket! Happy weekend everyone x

Is Mike going prematurely bald in that third panel?

And maybe, rather than sharing, Brad ate the whole thing in one sitting and now he’s sicker than a dog.

Religion is the insistence that the universe must be fair. Science is the observation that it is not.
