Try it! Go to bed, telling yourself that you’ll dream of monsters… and beating them up. Let me know how it goes, ’cause it hardly every works out anything like that in my head.
The one nightmare I had frequently was the falling dream. I would always wake up before I hit the ground, but my body always reacted to the dream just as though I had actually tripped and fallen.
I had monster type nightmares until practicing the martial arts. Then the big hulk pushing on the other side of the door or chasing me, went away. It has been a blessing knowing that you can defend yourself. Some nightmares still remain, such as being in a work or school environment and not knowing what you are supposed to do.
I wouldn’t classify it as a nightmare, but one haunting me nonetheless. It’s either 3 loud knocks or the door bell just as I wake up. Occasionally, it’s preceded by an “out of body” dream. It’s easily attributed to extreme stress, but I could see how someone could confuse it with paranormal activity or the grim reaper calling.

Eddie and I have a lot in common. Have you been talking to my mother, or just spying on me?

Driving with no particular control is my most frequently recurring nightmare. Maybe I should do a cartoon about that. What do you guys think?

Not long before going to Philmont I dreamed of meeting and conversing with Bigfoot there.
