I wonder if they’ve ever tried to make a lion feel bad for chasing an antelope? – And I wonder why no one looks out for the rights of vegetables? For instance, no one ever talks about the terrible things that happen to potatoes…
Some animal advocates do a lot of good, stopping racing greyhound mistreatment for example. I admit many go overboard—as in the strip above, forgetting that bugs do a lot of cleaning up of our messes.
I neither “hate” nor admire PETA, but there is much available on the web about them killing animals, such as this from the Huffington Post: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/nathan-j-winograd/peta-kills-puppies-kittens_b_2979220.html
I’m not the one fixating on anyone! The strip did that, today! -I don’t have a stance against people looking out for animal rights… however, please understand the humor and point of today’s strip- It’s not railing against animal activists (and neither am I)… I hope you can pick up on it….
What does this strip even mean? That animal rights activists stomp on bugs? Since when? That’s THEIR environment you’re having your picnic in! Hell, I’d avoid having a picnic in a buggy area in the first place. And if bugs did get in my way I’d shoo them off gently and redirect them, not sadistically smash them! What an imbecilic and uninformed strip!

And what about cultured yogurt with bacteria? Just because they’re small is no reason to deny them their animal rights!

All three of those bugs attack animals as well as humans.

Granted, Greenpeace is a worse offender.

You would have to be a real masochist not to swat at Mosquitos…
