I worked (briefly) at a dollar store in the 90’s …also, years before that, sold at a flea market, where one of my long tables had a sign that said everything on it was a dollar….

    Believe me, people, all sorts of people, ask that question…. a l l … d a y … l o n g.

When it was my own stuff, rather than me representing a company….

    I liked to answer “$2.50”

Inevitably, the questioner would say “Then why does the sign say $1?”To which I would answer “Beats me.”

Most dollar stores I know now charge up to $3.00 for stuff. Still a good deal on a lot of stuff, though

Same here in Sumter County, FL… They should change the sign to “Ten Dollar Store.”

They should call it the Easily Breakable Crap Store.

It is a fact that not all dollar stores are truly only charging a dollar or less.

In BC with taxes it would be $1.12. In the Maritimes, $1.15. Alberta doesn’t have provincial tax, so it would only be $1.05..Don’t know about the rest – just those.
