Why on earth would anybody say “Look up in the sky. It’s a bird!”?

I just watched a Batman ep. last night. Batman went into a “I know that he knows that I know…” routine, summed up by Robin exclaiming, “Holy Bat logic!!” So now, I have my catch-phrase for whenever someone verbally demonstrates that they are bat-$#!@ crazy.

About that Superman tagline. I think the idea is people looking up would see Supe flying overhead and at first think “surely that must be just a bird,” then “maybe it’s a plane” and then realize to their astonishment, “it’s Superman!” They weren’t looking up to see a bird, they were trying to explain to themselves what this strange flying thing was.

Oh no, a trouble alert! Wonder Twin powers activate! shape of an eagle, form of water. I thought it was okay back in the day.
