The trouble with faeces from carnivores is that the “leavings” are very acidic and take a long time to break down. The best organic fertiliser comes from ruminants and animals that have a purely vegetable diet.
I only get angry when it’s a neighbour dog that leaves a pile in my yard, instead of in his own. And it’s not all that good for the yard. It can take a year for a single dog turd to decompose – probably because it’s composed mostly of the same chemicals that made up his dog food, but without any of the nutrients that his body extracted from it. And until it does decompose, it’s just an ugly mess that you have to avoid stepping in (that is, of course, if you actually leave it there long enough for it to become part of the soil again).

Every home owning male should pee in his yard a couple of times a year. It’s good for you.
