Once grandma gets through War and Peace she should move on to Balle Field Earth by L. Ron Hubbard. Over 1000 pages that get so repetative you can skip to the end of the book after the first plan fails and you won’t loose anything.

“Battlefield Earth”. The book was OK if you are a fan of the genre — especially Golden Years of SciFi type. But I didn’t think the book was made into a very good movie. Too much left out.
