[sigh] I so very much admire and enjoy Jump Start. However, the whole array of “Snoog-a-boo” story arcs leaves me feeling so utterly disjointed and forlorn. Most all of the stories here in Jump Start are so real or are delightful metaphors (case in point, this past Sunday’s comic). The real comics bring such joyful chuckles and laughter from me because the are comedic turns and twists on real life situations. Likewise, the metaphor based comics also create happy, yet rueful chuckles from me, because they are capturing something meaningful in their transcendence outside of the scope of reality, and that through this means they have significant value and importance. However, there has not been even one “Snoog-a-boo” panel that has elicited even a minor grin from me. To me, the “Snoog-a-boo” arcs seem forced, difficult, and unrelatable to anything meaningful to me. I find them so disappointing and discouraging. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++It is my fervent hope that this “Snoog-a-boo” arc is mercifully short lived, and that we quickly return to the wonderful, realistic, richly diverse, humorous, and delightful types of stories that make Jump Start an exceptional comic.
