Hmmm. I seem to remember this one. I guess Connie needed to give this guy another ‘hint’, since he obviously didn’t get it the first time. But to be able to get the message across she’d have to stalk him just to tell him, since he doesn’t want to be with her in the first place!
It all worked out, She didn’t want him, he didn’t want her. It was a draw. I hope they are enjoying the Brand Name (Brachs) Bridge Mix, found hanging, in a cellophane bag in the candy aisle. $1.29 on sale at the Dollar Store. Stale peanuts, dry white stuff and gritty raisins, all covered in chocolate replete with white spots. Yum!
Yeah…. they had a date…. and she made wedding plans.
On the second date, he said let’s just be…. well…. not friends…. how about coworkers?
When she called him for a third date, he said no…. it didn’t work out, remember?
Next time she called, he said get lost, and changed jobs and his phone number.
After three letters from her, he threatened, by postcard, to call the police….so she wrote back and told him she’d decided not to have a relationship with him any more.
But he never answered that letter…. or the next two that said the same thing…so maybe she needs to drive over to his house and tell him in person?
Funny, that Connie is the friend who Joy and Verla want to impress (and emulate?) but just another Crustwood resident. Joy bought the bridge mix to impress, but SHE’s the only one seen eating it. Also her idea of things to impress: “designer” appliance cosies/covers and a tape of “Lives of the Rich and Famous”.
And Verla’s cup says “Kiss Off” (like she should to Jerry- and look for someone better) or is that somebody?
Connie doesn’t take the hint.. She made the mistake of introducing him to the Penny lot, maybe at one of their pool parties? You know the one where Joy rinsed out the Styrofoam cups to reuse? Yea that one.
As for the mixed candies/nuts Connie would not eat all of them so that leaves a few for the next person to impress.
I don’t cover my appliances so I don’t have designer thingies to put on them.
Isn’t Connie the one that they returned the friendship bread to a few months ago?
We have two chains here, Dollar Tree and 99 Cents Only, where nothing is over $1 except for about 4 or 5 food items that the latter carries, supposedly, by request…. like a gallon of milk or a flat of eggs for about $3 each.
I was disappointed when I went to Dollar General…. it was even more expensive than the Dollar and More Store, whose name says it all.
We have 4 chains-Dollar General, Family Dollar(often as close as a few hundred feet of each other!), Dollar Tree and Buck Stop. Buck Stop usually has better quality items than Dollar Tree. A DG and FD competitor is Alco. Don’t know how widespread they are – they might be only IL, IN, OH and KY, possibly MI……?
