Actually, cavies (guinea pigs) will run on a wheel, and the one in that tank is actually right sized for it. But, they do not tend to use the wheel nearly as much as a hamster or gerbil.
We had three rescued baby squirrels and they always tried to run on the outside of the wheel, which would spin backward and drop them on the bottom of the cage. We’d pick them up and put them back inside the wheel, but they never did get the hang of it.

It is my understanding that Guinea pigs can’t run in wheels because their spines don’t bend that way. At least that is what I was told at a pet store.
