They better keep the bathroom door shut allthe time or get rid of the cat.
For some reason I can’t view anything on the Webthrough my Safari browser. My other two browsersare working though. Does anyone know why this ishappening? I can get on the Web on the Safaribrowser on my other MAC just fine. thank you
I read some discussion about which way should it go and some mentioned they prefer one way (I think from top) exactly because then cat can’t pull it all out.
I personally dislike the ones in public restrooms where the spindle is oval-shaped, allowing the toilet paper (hereafter known as TP) one rotation to dispense a single sheet and that’s it. I can see the point of a business not wanting to waste and/or replace TP rolls often, but for goodness’ sakes, the paper towel dispenser allows me up to three large squares at a time for drying my hands. Give a customer a break! I’d prefer to use more TP and fewer paper towels overall, given the square footage needed for each activity. Besides, I can also use my jeans to dry off my hands after washing them. Not so with the TP. Rant over. Carry on.
Many years ago Ann Landers had to deal with readers arguing over this.
About a year ago in “Barney & Clyde” it was dealt with. I still have that cartoon strip hanging above my toilet paper roll and, NO @KZ71, it’s much easier with one hand if the paper is rolled from the back.
Most Middle easterners are lucky: they use water instead of paper.
Don’t really care which way it hangs, the important thing is that the toilet paper be there when it is needed ! Anyone remember the movie “Demolition Man” and the 3 shells ?
We’ve had the same discussion in our home. We also have two bathrooms. I have mine and he has his, almost exclusively, so I have the paper coming from the back and his comes over the top of the roll. He claims that’s more convenient. We have no dog or cat so I don’t have that problem to deal with. Yes, if a man replaces the empty roll, that a big plus !
My lady wife and I finally bought a free-standing dispenser which can be turned either way. She has since passed, but I still use it in preference to wall-mounted type. And just BTW, I have been replacing the rolls since I was a child, as it is just common courtesy not to leave that to someone who may be in a TEARING hurry when they get there. TYVM for your attention.
My sister/hubby has a cat loves playing with t/p so they fixed that issue out of reach on cabinet. To all the mom’s/grandma’s out there Happy Mother’s Day.
I don’t care HOW IT HANGS! It serves its PURPOSE EITHER WAY! Funny thing is, my hubby and son never take the old roll off, just set the new one on the floor! What is so hard about PUTTING THE D&&& ROLL ON THE HOLDER? My boss and I commiserated about this one time at work, LOL! He has the same problem with his wife!
The only valid reason for hanging the tab of TP down the back is if you have a cat who likes to paw on the roll and unroll it. The cat would still be pawing as if to unroll over the top; but if your tab goes over the back, the roll just rolls. Haven’t seen the cat yet that knows how to paw upwards so as to unroll from down the back. Otherwise, the preferred mounting is unrolling over the top.
Kids, cats, and husbands… Mount the dispenser sideways and use one that doesn’t have a spring. Solved. Easy to replace, doesn’t unspool without help, and doesn’t have a “front” or “back”.

The science of the one-handed tear… TP must always be hung over the top.

I’m just grateful that someone replaces the roll. Up or Down I’d rather it be there than not.

This Pickles is so funny. I’ve never laughed so hard at a Pickles comic. Gotta love Earl.

It depends on how many pets and/or small children are in the house. They tend to pull from the front, if the end isn’t hanging out.

It’s a sign of the times that no-one ever runs out of TP any more!!! in the old days it was a common occurrence!!!

I solve this problem by keeping the roll on top of the toilet tank.

My home, my way to hang. You do it however you want. Just a long as there’s a roll of TP there when you need it.
