Forgive Sandra her rather triumphant smile….

it’s just that she’s been railing at Jake about this for years.

Was that StelBel I saw?Couldn’t be. The real Stelbel would’ve been sleeping then.

Say, Bev … I’ll take that dak!

    Me!

Or are you sleeping now, too?Sigh…..

    Hi 2Old!

Well, just made a small grinderful of banana daiquiris…. It’s a slow night, so I didn’t want to fire up the big one.

But our “small” grinders are full-size Cuisinarts… plenty for 2 people…and if anybody else wants one, I can always fill it up again.

And back to 2Old’s disappearing comics and such….

Sometimes it’s hard to know what part of the problem is due to your computer…when blame could also be shared with your internet connection… and the website.

I’ve been having some problems with GoComics too….

but it’s been a super-busy few days…. yardwork, gardening, and then helping at a weekend event, all in the middle of a heat wave, though I’m thankful that it has begun to dissipate.

On two different nights during all this, when I was too fried to even think about it, I opened my page sometime around the turn…. then a while later found that I couldn’t get into any of the forums.

The first time, my whole comics page was acting just fine….even the magnifier….but clicking to open a comics just opened a blank error page… so I assumed it was GoComics.

Especially as I wasn’t having problems with any other site… so of course….

Then Friday night, it started to happen again…then the whole site went down.

So I checked with one of those “IsItDown” type sites…. then another…. and another….and they all said “GoComics is UP.”

So I checked on my phone…and it was working! But not on my laptop.Even though other sites were fine.

What the #$@??I was too tired to stay up and post on my phone…. but the next day, Saturday, all was fine.

    ????

2Old…. there is always food at the Tiki.Breakfast lunch and dinner, 26/7…or is that 24/8?

We do have a wider selection of, say, lunch specials at lunchtime, or pancakes at breakfast time…

But if you’re hungry ANYtime….food is here waiting.

    Yak ’n Dak?Burger?Soup?

On a hot summer day, when the really big grinder is in full swing….I’m sure some of you have seen me enjoy a large banana daiquiri in my very favorite way….

    sooo refreshing…..

Yawn…… been enjoying my first day, and night, back on Ballard Street….even working here at the Tiki…I was only away for a couple of days but I missed this place.

Got back just in time for Bev’s pedicure…. or should I say “deforestation?”Not sure what to do with those painted logs I cut off ….Wouldn’t be sanitary, I guess, as table decor.I guess I’ll have to put them in the hazardous waste bin.But if anybody has a better idea….

Ok, Fenton…. the grinders are clean, the kitchen is tidy…I hear the Monkey snoring someplace… so he’s home safe.

And X even fixed Bev’s butterfly!

All’s right with the world again.G’night.

Hi Bev — it’s OK…. we keep different hours in different time zones, so I just appreciate the times it does work for us to meet up.

As for Essex, I took his last two posts on the Saturday/Sunday strip, telling us to go on without him and that he’s gone fishing, as another of his mysterious farewells.

I didn’t see it till a couple of hours ago, as I had somehow skipped reading the whole middle of the weekend forum, and I hope I’m wrong…but he may have disappeared again for a while.

Annette … I live in Santa Rosa, so I don’t get to Alameda much…. if ever.

Many years ago, I visited there a lot, as my grandparents lived there, and had a men’s clothing store on Park Street, and for years after their, my aunt and uncle still lived there.

However…. that was still a long time ago…. and I’ve never been to a bar there!

The Tiki Bar is owned by Sheriff MonkeyBlues… he opened it when he was still an Inspector…and hung this sign on Ballard St.

He later hired me to manage the night shift when his Sheriff duties plus managing his band meant he had less time for the bar…. and now I pretty much run it at night…but he’s still the boss! And in his spare time, he visits Turdmunkestan to keep us supplied with high mountain yak…and smokes the ribs himself, unless he’s away and lets me run the smoker.

So… no…. AFAIK, not named after a bar in Alameda. But there are many other Tiki Bars in the world…

he may have had one or several in mind.

BTW…. meant to say…. if it’s only your own posts that you see double…that happens if you click “refresh comments” without refreshing the page.

No one else can see those, and they disappear if you refresh the page.

You get ALL the comments doubled if you click more than once on the link that says “load the rest of the comments.”

It sometimes takes a moment to work… don’t get impatient and click it again, before you give it a while to make sure it isn’t just being slow…it loads them all as many times as you click it.
