It’s easier to admit you were wrong, when what you were wrong about is so NICE!

Pets do not have to be a lot of work, but it is VERY IMPORTANT that you get a pet that’s a good match for your lifestyle. I love dogs, always have adopted rescues, but I make the effort to choose ones that have a temperament that’s a good fit for my household. I get so frustrated when people don’t take the time to assess that and/or choose based primarily on the animal’s looks; it so often leads to unhappiness for everyone.Do not choose a hyper herding dog for your tiny apartment, never exercise it, and then complain that the dogs is destroying your stuff!! There are plenty of couch-potato dogs that will happily snooze the day away while you’re at work!

I would love to have another bird, but after losing Fitzroy so soon (and he did not enjoy my activities as Cuddles did), I’m glad to have a local MAN rather than another species to keep me company and actually be able to be accepted everywhere I chose to go. I was limiting myself before to places where I could take a bird and travel was not an option without boarding. Now that I’m 76, I like camping trips because he has a good tent and all. I am buying a solar shower and enclosure and making Medievalish covers for other stuff and silk pennants to hang from tent peaks.
